Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Carmarthenshire is recruiting a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant for the 2026-2027 academic year to support pupils with additional learning needs. You will work from 08:20 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with a rate of £14.25 per hour, and join a supportive school focused on inclusion, wellbeing and pupil success.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, promoting independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours, within a caring team

Teaching Personnel - In Partnership With the School

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a large and inclusive secondary school in the Carmarthenshire area to recruit a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant for the 2026-2027 academic year.

This long-term role will involve supporting pupils within mainstream education who require additional help to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

You will join a supportive secondary school with a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing and pupil success. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD and attention difficulties
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Literacy and numeracy intervention needs
  • Anxiety and communication difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Encouraging engagement and confidence in lessons
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support
  • Assisting with intervention programmes across the curriculum
  • Promoting independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours

The school particularly values candidates with hobbies, interests or skills that can help engage learners who may find traditional classroom learning challenging, such as sports, music, outdoor activities, creative arts or mentoring experience.
