Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Trainee Teaching Assistant in Monmouthshire, South Wales. The role supports young people in a welcoming secondary setting and offers hands-on classroom experience with an ALN base.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting students in the classroom and assisting with the school’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision
• Helping pupils stay focused, confident, and engaged in their learning
• Building positive relationships with students and staff
• Providing one-to-one or small group support where needed
• Learning and applying behaviour management strategies
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school environment

• Aged 18 or older
• Any previous experience with children, young people or relevant qualifications

What You’ll Need (We Can Help You Get These!):

• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) — or a willingness to register (at your own cost)
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service — or a willingness to obtain one (at your own cost)
• Level 2 Safeguarding training
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months
