Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an ASC Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist provision and wider secondary school in Carmarthenshire. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who may have ASC, ALN, communication or sensory needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.

Ideal candidates bring resilience and patience, experience in education or care roles, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Health & Social Care qualifications are desirable.
  • Supporting teaching & learning qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals is desirable.
  • Experience with ASC/ALN/SEN or behavioural support is desirable.
  • First Aid or Team Teach training is desirable.
  • Strong communication, patience and resilience are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with ASC/ALN.
  • Support small groups to access learning and build confidence.
  • Promote independence and social-emotional development.
  • Assist with behaviour management and classroom routines.

Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support pupils within a specialist Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) provision and wider secondary school setting.

You’ll work with pupils who may have ASC, Additional Learning Needs (ALN), communication difficulties, sensory needs, anxiety, and social-emotional challenges, providing 1:1 and small-group support to help them access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
