Job summary

Pembroke Dock-based Learning Support Assistant required to support children with additional learning needs in a specialist unit at a mainstream primary school. You will help pupils access learning, build independence and confidence, and work with teachers to create a nurturing environment.

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs? Do you have the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to help pupils reach their full potential? Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist learning unit within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Pembroke Dock.

You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs within a specialist learning unit designed to provide a nurturing, structured and supportive learning environment. The pupils may present with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
  • Sensory processing differences
  • Learning difficulties requiring targeted support

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help pupils access learning, develop independence, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

The school is seeking someone who is:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional learning needs is desirable but not essential. The right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
