Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Limited is seeking a qualified chef to support our kitchen team, delivering hotel/restaurant standards with a focus on fresh seasonal food and resident wellbeing.

You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome menus and help lead and inspire a team while maintaining cost controls and high audit standards across our homes. A warm, professional approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in leading and inspiring a team
• Good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked to high standards
• Help create a warm, efficient and fun environment
• Work within budget
• Complete regular audits
• Manage stock control
