Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate Chef to join our bank kitchen team at one of our homes in the UK. You will support the Head Chef, prepare fresh seasonal dishes and ensure meals meet high NHS-style standards of quality and nutrition.

You will work with residents to tailor menus, create a warm environment in the kitchen, and help lead and motivate a small team while managing stock and budgets. A person-centred approach and HACCP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with genuine interest in wellbeing of residents.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home.
• Good understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Work fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked to high standards.
• Help create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
• Assist in leading and motivating a team.
