Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen teams across our homes. You will develop menus, work with fresh seasonal produce and ensure hotel/restaurant standards are delivered with balance, quality and cost control.

Join a supportive team, motivate staff, recruit and train, and uphold HACCP standards. This role offers autonomy in the kitchen, no split shifts, and opportunities through our Chef Academy and development programs.

Qualifications

• As a Head Chef, strong leadership and team management are essential.
• Experience with fresh seasonal food and nutrition is required.
• Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and inspire a team, develop and upskill where required.
• Menu development, tailoring around residents to ensure person-centred hospitality.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes.
• Bake fresh cakes, scones and breads from scratch.
• Assist the front of house team with setting up the dining areas.
• Work within budget, complete regular audits and stock control.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Ongoing recruitment and retention.
• Managing the performance of the kitchen team and front of house.
