Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) requires a General Assistant 2 to support teachers and pupils within school settings. The role involves direct pupil care, mobility supervision, and assistance during groups and outings, under the guidance of the principal and classroom staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable six months’ experience of working with a child/children in a school setting.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training as and when required.
• Demonstrable knowledge of the requirements of a General Assistant 2.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with toileting and personal hygiene as required.
• Ensure safe mobility and supervision of pupils within school premises and outings.
• Accompany teachers and therapy staff on groups and outings.
• Assist with feeding and meal times for pupils.
• Follow school rules and routines and maintain hygiene in classroom equipment.
