Job summary

Morgans Primary School & Nursery is seeking a proactive Site and Facilities Assistant to help look after our school buildings and grounds. You will work with the Headteacher, Office Manager and staff to keep the site safe, well maintained and ready for pupils each day.

You will open and secure the site, perform safety checks, manage contractors and assist with minor maintenance tasks. A friendly, reliable team player with safeguarding awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• Practical and dependable with good organisation.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Confident in basic maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of health and safety in schools.
• Reliable with ability to prioritise demands.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school site daily.
• Carry out health and safety checks.
• Maintain classrooms, communal areas and outdoor spaces.
• Undertake basic maintenance and minor DIY.
• Monitor site systems and report faults.
• Manage deliveries and contractors.
• Maintain records of maintenance and safety.
• Support testing and compliance activities.
• Move furniture and equipment as required.
• Ensure SEN Unit is well maintained.
