Job summary

Two Gates Primary School in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a reliable Site Assistant to join a friendly and supportive team. The role is a part-time 20-hour per week position with a varied, hands-on remit to keep the school environment safe and well-presented.

You will assist with general maintenance, safety checks and the setup of rooms and furniture, while supporting contractors and daily opening/closing procedures as required.

Qualifications

• Practical, reliable and able to work independently.
• Good general maintenance and DIY skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, pupils and contractors.
• Understands health and safety within a school environment.
• Previous school/site experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs around the school site.
• Supporting the cleaning, upkeep and presentation of the school buildings and grounds.
• Undertaking routine checks and reporting any issues or defects.
• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment as required.
• Supporting the opening and closing of the school site and ensuring the premises are secure.
• Assisting with deliveries and contractors when required.
• Supporting health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
• Responding positively to the day-to-day needs of the school and carrying out other reasonable duties as required.
