Job summary

Foundry Lane Primary School is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the security, safety and upkeep of the site. You will lead our site and cleaning team, keep buildings and grounds running smoothly, and ensure the site is a safe, welcoming place for pupils and staff every day.

This hands-on role requires practical supervision of a small team, strong health and safety knowledge, budgeting experience and the ability to coordinate contractors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in site management, caretaking or a similar facilities role.
• A practical, can-do approach with good problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing or supervising a team.
• A sound understanding of health and safety practice.
• Experience managing budgets and prioritising work to meet deadlines.
• Confident liaising with contractors and communicating clearly with staff, pupils and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Acting as principal key holder, responsible for site security, access and out-of-hours call-outs
• Line managing and supporting the caretaking and cleaning team
• Overseeing health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, fire safety checks and fire drills
• Planning and managing routine maintenance, repairs and an annual maintenance budget
• Liaising with external contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard
• Keeping the site secure, clean and safe in all weather conditions, including out-of-hours lettings when required
