Job summary

Two Gates Primary School (ATLP) is seeking a reliable Site Assistant to join a friendly, supportive team and help maintain a safe, welcoming school environment. The role involves practical hands-on maintenance, assisting with deliveries and coordinating with contractors.

The successful candidate will support day-to-day site operations, security, and readiness of spaces for pupils and staff, while prioritising health and safety across premises and grounds.

Qualifications

• Practical and reliable with practical DIY skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good organisational skills and flexibility.
• Strong communication with staff, pupils, visitors and contractors.
• Understanding of health and safety in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs around the school site
• Supporting the cleaning, upkeep and presentation of the school buildings and grounds
• Undertaking routine checks and reporting any issues or defects
• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment as required
• Supporting the opening and closing of the school site and ensuring the premises are secure
• Assisting with deliveries and contractors when required
• Supporting health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors
• Responding positively to the day-to-day needs of the school and carrying out other reasonable duties as required
