Job summary

The Education Authority is recruiting for a Cook at Dromore Central PS, Dromore. The role involves assisting with full range of meals, following HACCP guidelines, and supporting the Catering Supervisor to deliver hygienic, tasty meals to pupils.

Part-time position 26.25 hours per week, permanent contract, with shifts Monday to Friday 8:15am–2:00pm and a 30-minute unpaid break. A retainer fee is paid during school holidays.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent, or two years’ catering experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of meals, portion control and menus.
• Maintain hygiene and safety records, including temperature logs.
• Support supervision of staff and daily kitchen operations.
• Assist with stock, ordering, and general kitchen management.
• Promote the service to parents and customers to increase uptake.
