Job summary

Education Authority is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Bocombra Primary School, Armagh-Craigavon. The role is part-time (18.75 hours weekly), Monday to Friday, with a retainer during school holidays.

You will assist in food preparation, food service, and dining area setup, working under the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor to support a hygienic, customer-focused service for pupils. The ideal candidate will have good communication and teamwork skills, be capable of working under pressure, and

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including preparation of vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking, including reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintaining regular contact with the central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area and setting tables, cutlery, and serving points.
• Completing general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and clearing away equipment.
• Cleaning the kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment including floors and walls.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes as required.
• Securing premises as required.
• Completing duties in accordance with legal requirements and school policies.
• Promoting and adhering to the Values/ethos of the School.
