Job summary

Education Authority is recruiting a Cook for St John the Baptist Primary School, Portadown. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) with a permanent contract, based at St John the Baptist PS in Craigavon/Portadown area. Salary is £14.99–£15.74 per hour, with a retainer paid during school holidays.

The successful candidate will assist in meal preparation, uphold HACCP standards, supervise staff, manage kitchen operations, and contribute to promoting the service to parents and customers.

Qualifications

• Hold either NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or equivalent, OR two years’ experience of food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment.
• Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
• Willingness to undertake job related training

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of meals and portion control.
• Maintain hygiene, health and safety records including temperatures.
• Supervise other staff and assist in service points as required.
• Assist with meal planning, stock-taking and receipt of deliveries.
• General kitchen duties including cleaning, washing up and setting up/clearing away equipment.
• Assist in promoting the service to parents, principals and customers to increase uptake.
