Job summary

Lorien is seeking an IT Team Leader to support two schools in the trust, combining hands-on technical work with leadership. The role covers day-to-day 2nd/3rd line support for staff and students, plus longer-term planning around hardware, software and infrastructure.

You'll work across Windows and Apple environments, manage an IT Media Technician, and act as the go-to person for urgent decisions, cross-site travel, and liaising with school leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows 10, Server 2016+, Hyper-V 2019, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience supporting Apple hardware (iMacs, iPads, iOS devices).
• Strong networking knowledge including VLANs and switching.
• Experience with PC hardware troubleshooting and AV systems (projectors, speakers, screens).
• Proven ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT support across two schools, handling 2nd/3rd line requests.
• Plan hardware, software and infrastructure long-term.
• Hands-on with Windows and Apple environments, networking, AV, backups.
• Line-manage an IT Media Technician and escalate where needed.
• Prioritize workloads and represent the IT team with leadership.
• Collaborate with IT Operations Manager and Trust IT/Media teams.
• Liaise with Department Heads on urgent/complex issues.
