School Healthcare Assistant – Westbury‑on‑Trym, Bristol

Part‑time, Term‑time only – 29.5 hours a week. Working hours: 08:00‑18:00 three days per week and 09:00‑12:00 every third Saturday. Salary: £14,649 to £16,156.

Our client is a thriving independent day and boarding school for girls aged 4‑18. Located in Westbury‑on‑Trym on the leafy outskirts of the university city of Bristol, the school has a nationally outstanding academic record and a focus on nurturing students’ natural curiosity and passion for learning.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management and care of unwell pupils in school and pupils who sustain injury while in school.
  • Support the Senior Nurse in ensuring every pupil attending the Health Centre is appropriately assessed and treatment is actioned.
  • Promote health and wellbeing issues in school, supporting pupils in managing personal hygiene, sleep hygiene, mental health, healthy eating and exercise.
  • Ensure boarders receive appropriate care and advocate on their behalf if necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience of working with children.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently and sensitively with pupils, parents and external providers.
  • Kind, empathetic and calm with a pupil‑focused approach.
