Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Catering Manager to lead day-to-day kitchen operations within Antrim/Newtownabbey schools. You will supervise a catering team, manage menus, stock, and safety standards while ensuring high-quality meals for children and staff.

You will coordinate deliveries and service, handle dietary requirements, and promote the catering service to parents and school staff. The role requires strong leadership and adherence to HACCP policies.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent, or two years’ cooking experience.
• Experience supervising a catering team.
• Experience in stock control, budgeting and financial controls.
• HACCP knowledge and food safety standards.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menus, portions, and special dietary meals including IDDSI textures.
• Organise food service, deliveries and meal transport where required.
• Manage dining centre and production kitchen operations.
• Maintain allergen records and temperature logs.
• Promote catering services to parents, principals, pupils and customers.
• Liaise with the school to ensure service delivery and handle complaints.
