The Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Catering Manager to lead day-to-day kitchen operations and meal service in our schools. You will oversee menu planning, portion control, food safety, and staff supervision to deliver high-quality meals for children, young people and staff.

You will manage deliveries, stock, and equipment, ensure compliance with HACCP and dietary requirements (including IDDSI), and promote the catering service to increase uptake at dining centres.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1/706-2 or higher OR two years’ catering experience.
• Evidence of effective supervision or management of a catering team.
• Stock control, budget management and financial controls.
• Knowledge of HACCP and special diets such as allergens and ethnic diets.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day kitchen operations and dining centre/production kitchen oversight.
• Oversee menu planning, portion control, plating presentation, and dietary requirements including IDDSI.
• Organise service points, deliveries, storage, and stock‑take; ensure food safety standards.
• Ensure HACCP, allergen matrices, temperature records and incident reporting are maintained.
• Lead and develop catering team; manage rotas, training and performance.
• Promote the catering service to parents, principals, pupils and customers to increase uptake.
