Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) seeks a Catering Manager to lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring a quality service for children, young people, and staff. You will supervise the catering team, manage menus, inventories, and safety procedures in a busy school environment.

You will drive service delivery, uphold HACCP standards, and promote the catering offer to maximise meal uptake across sites.

Qualifications

• Hold NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or equivalent or higher relevant qualification.
• Evidence of effective supervision or management of a catering team.
• Knowledge of HACCP and safe food handling.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Execute cooking activities, menu planning, portions, and special diets.
• Organise and supervise all aspects of food service and delivery where needed.
• Manage dining centres' kitchens and production kitchen.
• Record food temperatures and maintain records for safety compliance.
• Monitor stock, orders, waste, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
