Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Catering Manager for a secondary school on the Wirral. You will oversee daily catering operations, lead the team, plan menus, and ensure high standards of hygiene and service for students and staff.

We seek someone with proven catering management experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of food safety. Immediate start available; term-time hours may apply; DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering management or supervisory role.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Professional, reliable and proactive approach.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen and catering service.
• Lead, support, and organise the catering team.
• Plan menus and oversee food preparation and service.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety.
• Monitor stock levels, orders, and food costs.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and to a high standard.
• Work closely with school staff to ensure the smooth running of the catering provision.
