Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Catering Manager to oversee the school catering provision on the Wirral, Merseyside, with an immediate start.

You'll manage the school kitchen day-to-day, lead the catering team, plan menus, ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety, and collaborate with staff to deliver a welcoming service.

This is a full-time, term-time role; a valid enhanced DBS is required or applicants must be willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering management or supervisory role.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A professional, reliable, and proactive approach.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen and catering service
• Lead, support, and organise the catering team
• Plan menus and oversee food preparation and service
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety
• Monitor stock levels, orders, and food costs
• Ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and to a high standard
• Work closely with school staff to ensure the smooth running of the catering provision
