Qualifications

• Previous experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and dining facilities.
• Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery.
• Supervise catering staff and allocate duties as required.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Assist with training and supporting catering team members.
• Promote a positive dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Location: Wirral
Contract: Term Time Only
Hours: Full Time (Monday-Friday)
Salary: £15.50-£18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to join the catering team at a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with catering and supervisory experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality food services within an educational environment. The successful candidate will support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the school's catering provision, ensuring excellent food quality, customer service, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Main Purpose of the Role
