Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Assistant Catering Manager to join a welcoming secondary school catering team on the Wirral. This role supports the Catering Manager in providing nutritious meals, high-quality service, and strict food hygiene compliance for students and staff.

The position requires catering and supervisory experience, Level 2 Food Hygiene (Level 3 desirable), strong organisation, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Catering Manager with day-to-day kitchen and dining operations
• Assist with menu planning, food preparation and service delivery
• Supervise catering staff and allocate duties as required
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation and customer service
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control
• Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and hygiene
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures
• Assist with training and supporting catering team members
• Promote a positive dining experience for students, staff, and visitors

Location: Wirral
Contract: Term Time Only
Hours: Full Time (Monday-Friday)
Salary: 15.50- 18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

The successful candidate will support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the school's catering provision, ensuring excellent food quality, customer service, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To support the Catering Manager in the effective management of the school's catering service, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and customer service.
