School Caretaker

Location: Melksham, Wiltshire

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: Full-time

We are currently working with a welcoming school in the Melksham area who are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their site team from January.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school premises
• Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks
• Ensuring the site is clean, safe and compliant with health & safety requirements
• Managing security, including alarms and access
• Supporting with room setups for school events and activities
• Liaising with contractors where required
• Grounds maintenance (seasonal duties)

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Have previous caretaking, maintenance or site management experience (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
• Be practical, hands-on and able to work independently
• Have a good understanding of health & safety
• Be reliable, trustworthy and flexible
• Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
