Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland in Chesterfield is seeking a hands-on Sales Office Manager to lead a small, busy sales office. This working manager role combines day-to-day operational involvement with accountability for office performance, processes, and customer relationships.

You will set weekly plans, coach the team, manage performance, and drive improvement, ensuring strong systems and a culture of accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing a small sales or service team.
• Comfortable working with data, with the ability to analyse performance metrics and act on findings.
• Credible and confident when handling sales calls and coaching team members.
• Highly organised and consistent, ensuring routines are maintained.
• Experience in trade sales and/or distribution is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the sales office, creating a positive, supportive and results driven environment that maximises revenue and protects customer relationships
• Set weekly plans for the team, focusing on quote follow-ups, account reactivation calls, and new business development
• Review and monitor office performance, adjusting resources as necessary to meet targets
• Coach and develop the sales team on effective selling techniques, systems skills, and product knowledge
• Creating and maintaining robust processes that enable the office to operate effectively, even during periods of absence.
• Establishing clear responsibilities and strong working relationships between the office and wider operational functions.
• Monitoring performance, driving continuous improvement, and taking ownership of the office's overall results.
• Lead a monthly commercial review with the Commercial Director to align on performance.
