Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join a manufacturer of packaging machinery passionate about engineering excellence, customer success, and continuous innovation. We are seeking a senior, highly responsible, and experienced Sales Manager to lead our UK commercial efforts. This strategic role involves full ownership of the UK sales function and offers a clear growth path to senior leadership based on performance and results.

The successful candidate will be supported by the General Manager during onboarding but is expected to independently manage and execute the commercial strategy. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional ready to step into a leadership position with significant influence over UK growth.

Our customer base includes 3PL providers, e-commerce businesses, marketplace operators, and beyond, requiring a consultative and solutions-focused sales approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead business development activities across the UK within target industries such as 3PL, e-commerce, and marketplace fulfilment.
  2. Manage the full end-to-end sales process: from prospecting and qualification to proposal, closing, and post-sales handover.
  3. Identify, engage, and develop new accounts while nurturing existing client relationships.
  4. Maintain and update the CRM daily, ensuring transparency and accurate forecasting.
  5. Deliver clear, data-driven sales forecasts and reports to management.
  6. Work closely with prospects to translate needs into tailored solutions.
  7. Represent the company at key industry events, trade shows, and customer sites.
  8. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve market positioning and brand awareness in the UK.
  9. Drive innovation in positioning and presenting solutions in the UK market.
  10. Take ownership of strategic sales planning and commercial execution aligned with company objectives.
Key Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years proven sales experience in warehouse, logistics, or packaging automation.
  2. Strong track record in business development and complex B2B sales.
  3. Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or HubSpot, with a process- and performance-driven mindset.
  4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  5. Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
  6. Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  7. Results-oriented with a passion for delivering client value.
  8. Ability to travel nationally and work extended hours during critical phases.
  9. Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
  10. Comfortable working in a hybrid/remote setup with periodic in-person collaboration.
  11. Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office.

Salary is negotiable, with annual commission and bonus, car allowance, 25 days holiday, and enhanced pension and healthcare benefits.
