Job summary

Thatcher Associates in Hampshire (on site) is seeking a Trainee Sales Executive for Out-of-Home Advertising, starting January 2027. You will join an established team selling digital screens and posters to local businesses, handling every step from cold calls to closing the deal, with full training and development provided.

You will work Monday to Friday 8:45am–5:30pm, with 22 days holiday (rising to 25) and a pension.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role (retail, hospitality, call centre or sales).
• Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people.
• Willing to learn and take on feedback.

Responsibilities

Trainee Sales Executive: Out-of-Home Advertising

£25,600 base, OTE £32,000 to £35,000 with uncapped commission

Are you confident on the phone and good at getting people talking? Would you like to move into advertising sales, with full training and development to become a skilled media seller?

You'd join the sales team of an established out-of-home media owner, selling advertising on digital screens and posters in busy local venues. Your customers are local businesses that want to be seen by the people on their doorstep, and you'd help them get in front of those people.

You'd own your sales from the first call to the signed deal: finding new businesses, picking up the phone, explaining how the advertising works and closing the sale. Success means hitting your monthly target, building a list of happy advertisers who come back, and growing your commission as your skills grow.

What you'll do

• Call local businesses every day to introduce advertising that puts them in front of their own customers
• Book and run conversations by phone and face to face, and close the deal
• Learn the products inside out so you can match each business with the right campaign
• Keep in touch with your advertisers so they renew and spend more
• Keep your pipeline up to date in the CRM so you always know where your next sale is coming from
• Work towards a monthly target, with uncapped commission on top of your base

You’ll need

• Experience in a customer-facing role, such as retail, hospitality, call centre or membership sales. Sales experience helps but isn't essential.
• To be happy picking up the phone and speaking to people you don't know
• Confidence, a clear speaking voice and the ability to think on your feet
• A willingness to learn and take on feedback
• A stable work history, with time spent in your current or recent roles
• To live within about 30 minutes of Farnborough, for example in Farnham, Camberley, Guildford, Basingstoke or Woking
