Job summary

Wolseley Group in Swindon (Plumb Centre) is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our busy branch. You will drive a 3.5T van for local deliveries and assist customers at the trade counter with informed product recommendations.

The role requires prior face-to-face sales and customer service experience, a valid driving licence, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. 40 hours per week, with some Saturday mornings.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence is essential.
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience is essential.
• Warehouse experience.
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

As a Sales Assistant based in our Swindon branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and alternate Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm.
