Job description

Stafford Health & Wellbeing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. With a growing patient list of over 13,500, driven by ongoing residential developments in the area, we operate from a modern, purpose‑built surgery within Northfields Health Village. Our facilities include 11 consulting rooms, 4 treatment rooms, a dedicated phlebotomy room, and spacious administrative offices all designed to support efficient and effective care delivery.

We are a recognised training practice, actively involved in mentoring medical students and GP registrars. Newly qualified GPs are encouraged to explore fellowship opportunities alongside our experienced team.

As an active member of both our ICB and GP Federation, and a key contributor to the Stafford Town Primary Care Network, we are committed to innovation and collaborative working. Our extended workforce enables us to deliver enhanced services and maintain a patient‑first approach.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic salaried GP to join our team for 5 sessions per week specifically 2 sessions on Monday, 2 on Thursday, and 1 on Friday morning. Every other Monday the PM session will cover the extended hours 18:30‑20:00.

In this role, you will provide high‑quality care to a diverse patient population within a supportive and well‑organised practice setting. You’ll be responsible for conducting consultations, managing a range of clinical presentations, and contributing to the continuity of care for our patients.

Job responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality clinical care to patients, contributing to the ongoing improvement of services, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our community.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide consultations and clinical assessments to patients, managing a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with practice policies and NHS standards.
  • Participate in duty doctor rota and contribute to on‑call responsibilities as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
  • Support the practice’s commitment to training and education, including mentoring opportunities for medical students and GP registrars.
  • Engage in clinical governance activities, including audits, significant event reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of enhanced services and participate in PCN activities.
