Royal Navy CCF Administrator & School Staff Instructor (SSI)

Salary: 26403-27694 per annum pro rata (Grade 4 SPC 7-10)

Actual salary: 4536-4758 per annum

Working hours: 7.5 hours per week worked every Thursday term time only.

Closing date: Monday 13th October at 9am.

Interview date: likely to be week commencing 20th October 2025.

The role

Hayesfield Girls School is seeking to appoint a Royal Navy CCF Administrator & School Staff Instructor (SSI) to join and support our thriving Combined Cadet Force. This is a unique and ideal role for someone with military or uniformed service experience or a strong knowledge of the cadet movement.

Administration
  • Maintain accurate stores, equipment and uniform records (including issuing and receiving items).
  • Manage the CCF building(s) and assist with the biennial inspection.
  • Use the Westminster database to maintain cadet and staff records and process course applications.
  • Arrange training authorisation, travel and expense claims, and update risk assessments.
Instruction and Training
  • Instruct cadets during the Thursday training period and on weekend exercises or activities as required and agreed.
  • Advise the Contingent Commander on training requirements and maintain high safety standards.
  • Deliver sessions to support Cadet Royal Navy syllabus development.
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to command, inspire, and develop young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and a high degree of discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Computer literacy and a good basic standard of education (e.g., English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent experience).
  • Flexibility and commitment to attend all Thursday term-time parades and agree to occasional weekend duties or residential trips.
  • Willingness to undertake any necessary training and wear an appropriate uniform on duty.
Desirable
  • Ex-Senior NCO of the regular or reserve armed services (or equivalent ranks in the Royal Navy or other armed service).
  • Working knowledge of the cadet movement or experience as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV).
