Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery in Crawley is seeking an enthusiastic Room Leader for a maternity cover contract. You will run your room day to day, spark curiosity, encourage creativity and make learning fun while building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.

This role offers a salary from £30,077 per annum plus a range of benefits within our established nursery group, and the chance to contribute to a warm, inclusive atmosphere where every child can shine.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
• EYFS knowledge and ability to reference the EYFS Framework.
• Experience planning, observing and keeping records for nursery-aged children.
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and caring Room Leader! This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and lead a supportive team, and help create a joyful, nurturing environment where every child can shine.

As Room Leader, you'll take pride in running your room day to day - sparking curiosity, encouraging creativity, and making learning fun. You'll build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and play a big part in shaping the warm, inclusive atmosphere our nurseries are known for.

About our Crawley Nursery

Opened in 2024 on Ifield Road, just minutes from Crawley town centre, our nursery is set in a beautifully renovated Victorian home.

Children enjoy bright, modern, spacious rooms, including a dedicated art studio, and gardens with free-flow access for year-round outdoor exploration.

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Suitable qualifications: an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, and the ability to refer to the EYFS Framework when planning activities
• To be aware of the role of planning, observation and keeping records when caring for nursery aged children
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and meeting their needs
• A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
