Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician in the York area to diagnose and repair on the roadside, handling diagnostics, flat batteries, tyre changes, and emergency breakdowns with trusted member service.

You start and finish at home, using a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit. The role involves 40-hour weeks with demand-led shifts and overtime options.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• Customer-focused approach and full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish each day at home with an RAC van and toolkit.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and keep members moving.
