Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to provide expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults and deliver quick, confident solutions to keep members moving, often working independently on varied roadside environments.

The role offers a structured development pathway, IMI accreditation opportunities and a clear career progression, with a base pay of £36,400 and an OTE around £61,000 depending on overtime and performance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and get members back on the road quickly and safely.
• Work independently to provide quick, confident solutions and professional customer service.
