Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK. You'll work a 40‑hour week with demand-led shifts, starting and finishing at home, and receive an RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit from day one.

With a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you’ll grow through a structured development pathway and enjoy a strong base

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support UK‑wide.
• Start and end day at home, tackling calls head‑on with RAC support and tools.
• You’ll have an RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit.
