Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and finish your day from home, with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit provided, and a 40-hour demand-led week with optional overtime.

You will need a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, plus a full UK driving licence with

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Emergency breakdown support and customer reassurance.
• Don and operate RAC van, diagnostic kit, and tools provided.
• Tackle calls from home base and stay flexible with 40-hour weeks.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions with excellent member service.
