Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, perform tyre and battery work, and provide quick, confident solutions to keep members moving.

You’ll start and end your day at home, with a RAC van, tools, and full uniform supplied. Ideal candidates have a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years as a vehicle

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Handle fault diagnostics, tyre changes, and battery issues
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members
• Start and finish each day at home and manage field-based calls
