Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to perform diagnostic and roadside repairs across the UK. You’ll work from home at the start/end of shifts, servicing members with confidence and technical skill.

Ideal candidates have an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years in a similar role, plus a full UK driving licence. RAC provides a van, tools, and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Demonstrated diagnostic and roadside repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency support across the UK.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
• Work with provided RAC van, tools, and diagnostic kit to complete calls.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

Driving licence (UK, <6 pts)
