Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair on the roadside, delivering quick, confident solutions across the UK. You’ll start and end your day from home and operate with a dedicated RAC van and tools.

You will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience, plus 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence. Overtime options are available and a competitive benefits package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Assist on-site with fault diagnosis, battery, tyre, and fault-finding tasks.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and top‑notch member service on every call.
