Job summary

RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You will diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and assist members across the local area from your home base.

The role offers a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE around £60,000, plus bonuses and overtime opportunities. You’ll start and finish your day at home, with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and a diagnostic kit provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support and fault-finding for RAC members.
• Start and finish days at home and cover a local cluster area.
