Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join its Patrol division. You’ll deliver mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency support across the UK, with the ability to start and finish from home and respond to call-outs in your local area.

The role requires Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, plus a full UK driving licence with ≤6 points. A RAC van, fuel card, tools, and uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults and perform quick, confident repairs on the roadside
• Provide customer reassurance and keep members moving
