Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician for the Plymouth cluster (Plymouth, Tavistock area). You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs and support RAC members quickly with a Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification and at least 2 years’ experience.

You’ll start and finish your days at home, work around a 40-hour week with optional overtime, and operate with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostics kit provided.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent), with at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support
• Troubleshoot faults, perform diagnostics and carry out repairs on-site to get members back on the road
• Start and finish each day at home, with a van, tools, and support from RAC
