Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join its Patrol division. You’ll triage faults, perform diagnostics, and deliver roadside repairs across the UK, starting and ending your day from home and supported by a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit.

You’ll earn a base of £36,400 with a realistic OTE around £60,000–£61,000, with overtime opportunities. Expect 40-hour weeks with potential overtime and a dynamic, customer‑facing role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair across the UK.
• Carry out vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassuring service to RAC members.
