Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division, covering the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support, often working from home before and after calls.

We supply a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit from day one. The role blends technical problem solving with strong customer service across local areas you’ll serve daily.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• As a Roadside Technician, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside.
• You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit to get the job done.

Education
