Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics while delivering emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will operate from home-based start and end locations, covering a defined local area and being ready for calls nationwide.

You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, diagnostic kit, and ongoing support to handle fault diagnostics, tyre changes, battery issues, and complex faults with confidence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and end your day at home with RAC van and tools provided.
