Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs across the UK. You’ll work from driveway starts, with 40-hour weeks and optional overtime, supported by a structured development programme and IMI accreditation opportunities.

You'll combine hands-on diagnostics with strong customer service, maintain independence while receiving ongoing training, and have access to benefits including share schemes, breakdown cover, and pension.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in vehicle maintenance or related role.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Use latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly and safely.

Education
