Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll perform roadside diagnostics and repairs, supporting members across the UK from a home-based start and end location. A strong base salary (£42,921.87 incl.

night allowance) complements an ambitious OTE (£43k–£53k), with major earning potential through bonuses and overtime. You’ll operate with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform and essential tools, delivering quick, confident solutions and outstanding member care while

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and end your day at home, tackling roadside challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the road.
• Equipped with RAC van, fuel card, uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit to get the job done.
