Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician in the Exeter cluster area, covering Sidmouth and nearby towns. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support to help members get back on the road quickly, locally.

Expect a 40-hour week with demand-led shifts and potential overtime. You’ll start and end your day from home, with an RAC van, fuel card, tools, and diagnostic kit supplied.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home while attending local call-outs.
