Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work independently to diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and reassure members when they need us most.

The role offers structured development, hands-on learning, and accreditation opportunities with the IMI, plus a comprehensive benefits package and a clear path to career progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and get members back on the road quickly.
• Work independently to assess issues and communicate solutions clearly.
