Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, repair vehicles at the roadside, and help members continue their journeys with confidence and safety.

You will be trained through a structured development pathway, with hands-on learning, ongoing support, and IMI accreditation opportunities as you grow your diagnostic capabilities and technician skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and repair vehicles at the roadside.
• Use diagnostic technology to identify faults and restore mobility quickly.
